Observations
4/9/09
Our tadpoles arrived via priority mail today. We were so excited! We set up their new habitat and let them go!
The next day after they got used to their new environment, we took suggestions on names. The names ranged from super heros to claassmates name! So, we listed the names and took a vote. The final names are Dan, Sharky and Ranita (little frog in spanish)

Sharky's back legs are growing.
No legs for Ranita yet!
4/20
No other changes as of yet this week, but we are now streaming our new tadpoles and our frogs from last year's project. It helps us make a comparison of babies and adults.
The pictures are a little blurry due to taking them through the plastic habitat and the water!
4/22
Ranita has back legs! Earth Day must have encouraged her!
4/24
Dan had front legs. Start noticing his tail shrinking!
Hi Mrs. Handley,
Thank you for letting us observe your tadpoles.
Some of my students would like to ask you some questions about the tadpoles?
Noah wants to know what are gills?
Axel asks how tadpoles grow their arms and legs?
Emerald wants to know why they "whiskers"?
Dylon and Esmeralda asked why do tadpoles have long tails?
Amy wants to know how long before the tadpoles turn into frogs?
Thank you,
Mrs Doskins' Class
